Who I Coach
I work with real people — former athletes, busy parents, and professionals in their mid-30s through 50s who used to be strong, then life got in the way. You're not 25 and you're not lazy. You're juggling a job, a household, and a body that's been on the back burner for years. You don't need to be yelled at. You need a coach and a plan built around the time, the body, and the history you actually have.
That's the whole reason Ross Fitness exists: strength training for busy parents 35–55 in the Nashoba Valley, coached in a small group — max 4 to a session — so you get real attention on every rep.
My Background & Credentials
I'm a post-rehab specialist, which means I'm built for the person walking in with a bad back, a rebuilt knee, or a shoulder that's never been right. Every client starts with a movement screen. We train around your history — not through it.
I've Been the Underdog
Before there was a gym, I was living out of my car. I clawed back — a grocery-store job, a rented room — then put on a suit, walked into a gym, and asked for a shot. That day, Ross Fitness was born. Three years later, the Town of Ayer took our building by eminent domain. I could have folded. Instead I fought it for a year, won, and reopened three times the size.
Nobody was coming to save me — I had to bet on myself. That's the standard I coach by, and it's exactly why this gym exists for the people who've been counted out.
How I Coach
Strength is the foundation; fatigue is never the goal. We don't chase soreness or random "hero workouts." You get your own program, progressed week over week, with me on the floor every set watching your movement, adjusting your load, and keeping you accountable. Empathy first — I'll acknowledge your life. Then standards always — I'll tell you exactly what to do.
The Soul of This Gym — JJ
JJ walked through our door in 2013 — late sixties, trained 4–5 times a week for nearly a decade. The men couldn't believe what she could do. The women looked up to her. She told every new person the same thing: "You can do this." If you've been told it's too late, JJ would've laughed at that. Her legacy is the reason this gym exists for the underdog.
We coach members across the Nashoba Valley — Shirley, Groton, Harvard, Lunenburg, and Littleton.
